Imperiale (3.500 ab., extended Kmq 53.76) is the
first country of the calabrian jonica coast provine from
the Lucania and has the most colorful historical center
of the Calabria, for its scenografy situated urbanistic
castling on a rockhill dominated from a medieval castle.
Extended approximately 11.000m2 with altitude to 204m
from see level, and 4km from the see, today more
populized, than it is introduced with approximately 7km
of beach of varied nature, alternating pebbles to the
sand. The small village with a rich history, introduces
very many attractions, which as an example the
archaeological Monte zones Soprano, Masseria Saliva,
Timpone Ronzino, Murge di S. Caterina, Reservior to the
Cesine, the Sanctuary of Saint Maria of the Nova to the
Cesine, majestic and the imposing Castello Svevo. The
Castle, constituted from rests of a huge complex
fortress erected military architects of Federico II of
Svevia in century XIII, rimaneggiato in the Aragonese
period (sec.XVII), has been a time dwelling of passage
of Federico II in its frequent travels from the Puglia
to the Sicily, of the Aragon.
